Betty Caldwell Harrison

Betty Caldwell Harrison, 97, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty was born in Hogansville, Georgia on April 13, 1927, to the late Cephus Caldwell and Cenie Shepard Caldwell. She was a 1945 graduate of A.L. Miller High School and was the last surviving spouse of the Harrison families and last surviving sibling of the Caldwell families.

A devout Christian, Betty was an active member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and Bellevue Baptist Church, where she formed lasting friendships and served her community with grace.

Betty's warm presence and kindhearted nature made her special to countless individuals. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous spirit, and the joy she brought to the lives of all who knew her.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her son, Terry Harrison of Macon; grandchildren: Amy Poray (Ken), Kate Sasser (Phillip), Dan Hutton (Melody), and Nicole Festler (Kyle); seventeen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac “Ike” Harrison; granddaughter, Leslie Claire Harrison; daughter-in-law, Brenda Harrison; three sisters and four brothers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Magnolia Manor for their unwavering care and support, especially Kim.
