William (Bill) Cole Rogers grew up in Phillipsburg, NJ, the son of Claire Hummer Rogers and Clarence Eugene Rogers. He and his beloved wife, Margery Virginia Bridges Rogers, who preceded him in death, retired to Macon, Georgia. Bill earned his B.S., M.S. and M.A. degrees. He was a collegiate all-star and award-winning athlete who captained the football, baseball and basketball teams at Greenbrier Military Academy and attended Ohio University on scholarship. A decorated veteran, Bill served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from June 1954 to October 1984. He was honored with 19 service medals including the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Armed Forces Commendation Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, among others. Bill and Margery embraced their adventurous life in the military, which included traveling and living around the world. After retiring from the Air Force, Bill served as the Director of Guidance, Counseling and Testing at Westfield School from 1986 to 1995 and he established the Boxes for Troops program at his retirement community in Macon. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He is survived by his two beloved sisters: Evella Rogers Mitchell and Nancy Rogers Bond and preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Eugene Rogers and Augustus Kellogg Rogers. Bill and Margery were the proud parents of three daughters: Tina Agnes Rogers (deceased 2002), Kathryn Claire Eisermann-Rogers, M.D., PhD. and Margery Bridges Rogers McKay and their adored granddaughters: Heather Erin Green, Alexandra Claire Eisermann, Natalie Selma Eisermann, and Jacqueline Olivia Eisermann, J.D.
