Family will greet friends and loved ones at a Visitation on Wednesday, October 30, 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Harts Mortuary on Cherry Street. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 31 at 2:00 PM at Northridge Baptist church with visitation one hour prior to service, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery. Her eight grandsons will lovingly serve as Pallbearers.
Mrs Davis was a devout Christian and spent her previous years serving in her home church, Northridge Baptist Church (formerly Eastside Baptist) as a nursery teacher, primary teacher, VBS teacher and leader of nursing home ministry. She was a homemaker and loving mother for most of her years, but also worked at the Naval Ordinance plant and retired from Robins AFB.
She enjoyed nothing more than being with her large family at holidays, birthdays, celebrations, and Sunday Dinners. Her beautiful smile lit up a room and touched hundreds of lives around her. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to fish in her little lake, feed the ducks, eat grapes from the grapevine and enjoy Gods beautiful world. She also loved to crochet, and play and teach Scrabble to all who wanted to try, and in later years amazed us when she beat us! We were blessed with precious caregivers who kept her active and happy. Mrs Barbara Maxwell until she retired, and most recently Ms. Debbie Hill, who lovingly nursed and prayed her back to health more times than we can count, and loved on her like family. Her granddaughter, Sarah Golden, who cared for her at night and got blessed right back by her granny’s love, smiles and stories.
She loved everyone unconditionally, truly from the heart, saw the best in all she knew, welcomed the stranger into her home, and brought joy to all around her. Her sweet smile will be missed but we will forever hold the lessons of love, mercy, and grace in our hearts. Until we meet again.
Flowers will be loved and appreciated as well as donations to her beloved church
