Lori Lynn Pointer of Gray, Ga, 57, entered the beautiful gates of heaven on Sunday, August 4, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be officiated by Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Lee Griffin at Bradley Baptist Church on Thursday, August 8, 2019 with a visitation at 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM and the service immediately following at 7:00 PM.
Lori Pointer is preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Thomas Gay.
Lori enjoyed traveling, singing in the choir and spending time with her family. She was the 'glue' that held the family together and always cared about everyone else first. Her favorite hobby was collecting unique jewelry, gemstones and quartz. Lori's all-time favorite stone was the Blue Topaz in which her husband purchased for her.
Lori was a dedicated employee of 18 years at Wesleyan college.
Survivors include her faithful husband of 32 years, William Pointer; mother, Barbara Gay and two sisters, Lisa Hassell and Wendy Lilley; two children, Holly (Jeramie) Frasure and Daniel (Bethany) Pointer; and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebecca, Joseph, Sadie, Noah, and Daniel Jr.
Flowers will be accepted, and donations can be made to United in Pink Foundation at unitedinpink.org in memory of Lori. Family will receive friends at the homes of Holly Frasure, 310 N Baker Rd. Macon, GA 31211 and Daniel Pointer, 129 Luke Smith Rd Macon, GA 31211.
Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of the arrangements.
