Lawrence W. “Doc” Drinkard, 81, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, with Dr. Tim Bagwell officiating.
Doc was born in Washington, Georgia, to the late Walter Drinkard and Mildred Pate Drinkard. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He earned a bachelor’s degree from North Georgia College and an MBA from Georgia College. After serving in the Army, he worked at the Bibb Company, Fickling and Walker Insurance Company, and retired as the CFO of Charter Medical Corporation. After retirement, he then went to work at Fickling & Company as a commercial realtor. Doc loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He will be best remembered by everyone who knew him as selfless, generous, and compassionate.
Doc is survived by his daughter, Caroline Edenfield (Brad), of Forsyth, Georgia; son, Bo Drinkard (Amy), of Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Monty Martin (Jessica Goodlin), of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Jack Edenfield, of Forsyth, Georgia, Renn Drinkard, of Denver, Colorado, Julianna Drinkard, of Macon, Georgia, and Justin Belk (Taylor), of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brothers, Howard Drinkard, of Powersville, Georgia and Marty Drinkard (Betty), of Milledgeville, Georgia; sister, Sarah Lord (Henry), of Madison, Georgia; and companion of many years, Linda Leslie, and their beloved dog Berkley.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jane Everett Drinkard; brothers, Charles Drinkard and Thomas Drinkard; and sisters, Nita Yearwood and Helen Dingler.
