Barry T. Spence, 58, of 1545 Rainey Road, died Thursday, July 12, 2012. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street. The Reverend Tommy Perkins will officiate. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204 or to the Hephizbah Children’s Home, 6601 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31210 or to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Mr. Spence was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a fisherman. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline for several years and retired from Brown and Williamson and R. J. Reynolds.

Mr. Spence is survived by his wife, Amy Rankin Spence of Macon; daughters, Mandy Spence, Angie Hagood, Whitney Spillers and Hayley Spillers, all of Macon; grandchildren, Dillon Self, Macy Evans, Savannah Evans and Emma Hagood, all of Macon; brother, Forrest Spence (Carol) of Lincolnton, Georgia; sister, Joy Smalley (Jack) of Lincolnton, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
