Lizella- William Leon Jones passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012, at 2PM, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. The family may be contacted at the home of Terry and Linda Spires, 21 Sweet Water Court, Lizella, GA 31052 (Crawford County).

Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving as a medic. He attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a member of Brookhaven Assembly Of God where he also taught Sunday School. Mr. Jones was retired after 60 years as an exterminator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Jones and Adel Dukes, his brother, George Carlton Jones, his grandson, Ronald Jones, one infant son and one infant great granddaughter.

Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Betty Renfroe Jones; Son, Wesley (Lucy) Jones; Daughter, Linda (Terry) Spires; Son, Stanley Jones; Daughter, Kay (Eddie) Brooks; Daughter, Nancy (Tommy) Stedman; Sister, Kathleen Harris; 6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
