Macon- Walter Ard, Sr., 85, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012, at 11:00AM, in the chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola with the Reverend Joe McDaniel and Dr. David Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at the Cupola. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice.

Mr. Ard was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. He served in the United States Navy and was retired from RAFB after 39 years of service. Mr. Ard was an avid golfer and member of CGSGA, for whom he served as secretary and treasurer.

Survivors: Wife, Jean Willis Ard; Daughter, Linda (Mike) Bloodworth; Son, Walter “Sonny” (Brenda) Ard, Jr.; Sister, Jewel Golden; Grandson, Michael Ryan (Rose) Bloodworth; Granddaughter, Brandi (Matthew) Drake; Great granddaughter, Savannah Bloodworth; Great grandson, Michael Bloodworth; Sister in law, Ray Cooper and many nieces and nephew whom he loved dearly.
