Macon- Betty Jean Franklin Dopson, 69, died Thursday, April 12, 2012. Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:00AM at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bob Shell officiating. Burial will follow the service in Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 6511 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216 or to the donor’s favorite charity.

Mrs. Dopson was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. She loved cooking, crafts, and flowers; but most of all, she loved her family. Mrs. Dopson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Franklin, was predeceased by her sister, Helen Bray, and her brother, John Franklin.

Mrs. Dopson is survived by her husband, Jimmy Dopson; daughters, Melissah and Bob Weiner of Lakeland, Florida, Jennifer and Barry Smith of Lakeland, Florida, and Jennifer and Greg Hays of Lawrenceville, Georgia; son, Jay and Paige Dopson of Centerville (Atlanta area), Georgia; sister, Alice and Joe Brock of Florida; grandchildren, Ryan Clarke, Christina Weiner, Cory and Jamie Dopson, Kaylea Smith, Katie and Dalton Hays; Great-grandchildren, Landon and Hayden Dopson, parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dopson, and many nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
